² Superscript Text Generator
Convert text to superscript Unicode characters. Small raised text for math and social media — all in your browser, no upload, instant results.
About the Superscript Text Generator
This superscript text generator runs entirely in your browser. Type or paste any text into the box above and click Convert to turn supported characters into their Unicode superscript equivalents. Nothing is uploaded to a server — the conversion happens instantly with JavaScript on your device.
How it works
The tool uses Unicode's dedicated superscript characters. Most lowercase letters (a–z), all digits (0–9), and several symbols (+ - = ( )) have superscript equivalents in Unicode. Some uppercase letters also have superscript forms. Any character without a superscript equivalent is left unchanged.
Where to use superscript text
- Mathematical notation — Write exponents like x² or eˣ in plain text without equation editors.
- Social media — Create stylized captions, bios, and usernames.
- Footnote markers — Indicate references in plain-text contexts.
- Ordinal numbers — Write 1ˢᵗ, 2ⁿᵈ, 3ʳᵈ, 4ᵗʰ in a single text run.
How to use the generator
- Type or paste your text in the input box.
- Click Convert — the superscript version appears in the output box.
- Click Copy to copy the result to your clipboard, or Clear to start over.
Frequently asked questions
Does this tool upload my text? No. All conversion happens locally in your browser. Your text never leaves your device.
Why are some characters unchanged? Unicode doesn't define superscript forms for every character. Unsupported characters are kept as-is so you can still read the result.
Will the superscript show up everywhere? Most modern platforms support these Unicode characters, but a few older systems may show boxes (□) for less common superscript letters. This is a font limitation.
Is there a length limit? The only limit is your browser's available memory. Even very long documents convert instantly.
